AI isn't replacing what we do — it's amplifying it. You aren't being replaced. Your value was never about knowing every specific skill. It's your ability to brainstorm, collaborate, push back, and make decisions. That's what makes you irreplaceable. No model can do that.
What AI Actually Is
Let's strip away the hype. AI is a glorified search engine. A very impressive one — built by genius computer scientists and mathematicians — but at its core, it's a token prediction machine. It doesn't think. It doesn't understand. It predicts the next word based on patterns. That's it.
Another Revolution, Not the Last One
That said, AI is a revolution. But it's not the first. Personal computers changed the world forever. The internet changed the world forever. AI is changing the world forever. Each time, people panicked. Each time, we adapted. This is no different.
The Real Problem: Bad-Faith Companies
Here's where I get frustrated. The leaders of these frontier AI companies need to do a better job of being honest about what this technology actually is — and more importantly, what it isn't. For those that won't, I truly believe in government regulation. If they continue to paint the picture that AI will replace humans, what good comes from that? All it does is leave people feeling hopeless, unmotivated, and stressed.
And for what? So AI will do all the work for us someday? Let's say that's even possible — we're talking the 2100s and beyond. Will humans just... not work? What will we do with ourselves? A heaven on earth? I highly doubt it.
AI Washing Is Real
We're already seeing companies use AI as an excuse to cut labor. Don't be fooled. It's a cost-cutting play dressed up as innovation. Once they look at the real metrics — quality, reliability, customer trust — they'll realize humans are needed. They always have been.
Let's just wait and see who figures that out first.
